Derby setup sheet

Post by David Weisenthal »

Hi folks, I know this has been asked before, but is there someone with one of the original Derby set up sheets out there who could send me a scan? I just got an SD10 on the forum which is working great. I know Margit is on facebook, but I'm not sure if I should send her a friend request for this..must be one floatin' around..

Do you mean a rodding chart? Since Derby was fairly low production, I bet they were all built to order, not much "standard," since there are so many different ways people want the knees.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Hi Lane, maybe that's a better way to describe it. Charlie Stepp supposedly sent a sheet with the guitars when bought new for basic adjustments. Not sure how detailed it was. It is a nice clean layout underneath and pretty easy to figure out, but they're also so easy to mess up by well intentioned tinkering.

I have the Green DB E9 10 String there was built as a gift for Mr. L. Green. I took it Derby’s Shop years back, and he confirmed it was that it was that build as a gift to Mr. Green. This has been with me near two decades. It’s still in near perfect condition.

I may consider selling it?

I wanted to say that this Derby is built very similar to Zum DB E9 builds. I owned a Zum DB E9 3+4 while this Derby is a 3+5 (has a knee Up).
