A fast roll in G. / E9th

Post by Ricky Davis »

This is a nice fast roll you can play in any key, two frets back from no-pedal position. The trick to this lick is to push B and C pedals at same time when doing the move. Also; start it slow and after you got her under your fingers, rip it on a nice fast 2 beat song.

Ricky, there is another rolling lick you can do--Move up one fret from the G-position-pedals down, keep A-B pedals down and add the KNee lever that lowers your D# down to C# and play strings 2-3-4, in essence you'll be playing one fret above G, but you'll still be in the key of G. Are you totally {CORNEDFUSED}? Image

Hey Jim; I would like to see how your playing that one; what pattern and if you can tab it out, that would be cool.
Thanks,
Ricky

Ricky I wished I could tab it out for you but I haven't got that many smarts on the computer yet Image Hang in there as sharpe as you are you'll figure it out! By the way you use the ABC-setup and I use the CBA- setup, so for you its the AB-pedal and for me the B and A pedal, and I lower my D# down to C# with my LKL. Aint nothing like an oddball is there? Hey Malcolm; it is a small world after all. Good to hear from you. Yea I expect to hear each and every one of those licks when I come over there Image Image Imageha.... No really; I don't know when we will be there again; maybe towards the end of the summer or early fall. Hey by the way; did you know I play a Sho-Bud now? And I will fly it with me when we come over. Keep in touch and e-mail me sometime and tell all them boys in your band Howdy from us.

Also at the no pedal position move the whole thing down one string, (to start on the fifth string instead of the fourth). Drop the second string a half tone, (to D). Play the same pattern. This works great when you need to throw in a quick lick in. Maybe start with this lick then add the lick that Ricky started this thread with.

Ernies' lick tabbed would be if I'm not mistaken. Staying with key of G
